MPUMALANGA Black Aces chief executive Marc Grune has reassured the club's supporters that everything is being done to ensure the club does not end up fighting relegation again next season.
Grune was still ecstatic after AmaZayoni retained their Premier Soccer League status after a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Black Leopards in the final of the promotion playoffs at Witbank's Ackerville Stadium on Wednesday.
"Obviously the pressure is off now and we will have a big meeting next week where the club management will map the way forward," Grune said. He revealed that there will be changes in the playing personnel and hinted that there might also be a change in the technical team.
"No decision has been taken yet, we will only make announcements after the Nedbank Cup. But just like any other team, there will be changes with players coming in and others leaving."
Regarding the technical team, Grune said: "Obviously we are glad with how things have turned out so far but everything will be discussed at the big indaba we'll have next week. I am positive, though, that things will be better in the new season. It has been very tough for us, but the supporters are glad that the team is still in the PSL."
Club captain Godfrey Nobula said the days of Aces scrapping for their lives in the top flight were all but over.
"Our first season back in the PSL after a long time was very tough but by the grace of God, we survived. I would like to assure our fans that this club will be in the PSL for many years to come," he said, adding that a number of factors, such as the congested league programme, had contributed to their struggles.
