Cops bust for bribery

TWO police reservists and a SA Revenue Service official appeared in the Piet Retief magistrate's court in Mpumalanga for allegedly accepting bribes from foreigners whose permits had expired.

TWO police reservists and a SA Revenue Service official appeared in the Piet Retief magistrate's court in Mpumalanga for allegedly accepting bribes from foreigners whose permits had expired.

Constables Peter Hlatshwayo, 28, and Bongani Buthelezi, 35, appeared with SARS official Sello Maila, 32.

They were arrested on Friday for allegedly taking bribes of R4250 from three foreigners, said Captain Klaas Maloka.

They were remanded in custody and the case was postponed to April 13. - Sapa
