BAFANA Bafana have expressed interest in playing against China and Finland ahead of the 2010 Fifa World Cup here in South Africa from June 11 to July 11.

Bafana technical staff members are finalising a programme for a two-week training camp in Germany from April 12 to 30.

Sowetan has learnt that Bafana will play three friendly matches against German teams and one international fixture against Finland or China.

Finland are ranked 54th by Fifa, with China 84th, four notches above Bafana Bafana, who are fresh from a three- month camp in South America.

Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira will arrive tomorrow morning from Brazil and visit Sandton later in the day to announce the team that will tour Germany.

Stand-in Bafana Bafana captain Teko Modise said the tour to South America went according to plan, adding that the players were feeling the difference.

"The fitness level of all the players is the best ever, we were training like soldiers preparing for war. Our tactical and technical awareness has also changed for the better," he said.

"We learnt to keep possession, which is the most important aspect of the game. The appetite for goals is back, so is the confidence of all the players. We are definitely on the right track in terms of our preparations for the 2010 Fifa World Cup. The camp in Germany will help us fine-tune all departments."
