It is a predictable tragedy that has characterised our holiday calendar for too long.

Consequently, a feeling of unease that irks all of us at the approach of a long weekend or festive season has become all too common.

Once again the nation is thrown into collective mourning over the death of more than 60 people over Easter - among them Dr Molefi Sefularo, the Deputy Minister of Health.

We share the grief of the Sefularo family and relatives of the other casualties of the country's road carnage.

Will the bloodbath on our roads ever end?

We ask the question out of deeply felt frustration at our nation's inability to contain the deadly menace.
