SOUTH African 400m specialist Ofentse Magawane will be one of the big stars in action at the Yellow Pages Series meet at Germiston Stadium tonight.

"This has been a great season for me and the plan is to continue doing well in Germiston," said Magawane, who is from Chaneng in Rustenburg.

Magawane has won all the events of the series to date - in Port Elizabeth, Durban, Potchefstroom and Stellenbosch. He crowned it all by winning the South African title.

Magawane, 28, who has also qualified for the Commonwealth Games in India in October, trains at the upgraded Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Phokeng.

"So far, so good in terms of the preparations for the Commonwealth Games," Magawane said.

World 800m champion Mbulaeni Mulaudzi is also looking forward to doing well in Germiston, which is a happy hunting ground.

"I have always done well in Germiston, from childhood days," said Mulaudzi, who is also eyeing the African Senior Track and Field Championships in Kenya in July.

Olympic 3000m steeplechase finalist and South African record holder Ruben Ramolefi will also be in action, along with Commonwealth javelin champion Sunette Viljoen.

South Africa 100m champion Simon Magakwe will want to set the record straight after being blown away in Stellenbosch last week by Leigh Julius.
