The South African development soccer side qualified for the second round of the African Championship Nations after beating Zebras 2-1 via a brace by debutante Moses Spandeel.
This was after the two sides played to a goalless draw in the first leg match at the University of Botswana in Gaborone a fortnight ago.
On the other hand, the South African Under-17 women's team hammered Botswana 9-1 in the World Under-17 Cup.
Makgarebe, guided by Solly Luvhengo, qualified for the second round on a 22-1 aggregate score after winning the first leg match 13-0 in Gaborone two weeks ago.
Luvhengo's charges will now move on to the next round of qualifying where they have a date with their hoodoo team, Nigeria, in what promises to be a thrilling clash.
Tsegofatso Makinta and Christelene Jantjies were in a class of their own after scoring four goals each with Robyn Moodaly grabbing a brace.
The other goals were netted by Kelso Peskin, Bianca Joodt and Vuyo Mkhabelo.
Luvhengo said: "We are now going to prepare for Nigeria. I know our women's teams always encounter problems against Nigeria but there is always the first time in life."
"We are excited to qualified for the second round for the first time after losing to Zimbabwe in the inaugural event last year," said Amabinnesplaas manager Barney Kujane.
"We are going to play Zambia and the plan is to start blooding in Under-23 players to use this event to prepare for the 2011 All Africa Games and 2012 Olympics."
