THE Joyi brothers, Themba and Nkosinathi, will light up East London this weekend.

The two warriors, whose skills are honed by Lennox Mpulampula, are boxing idols in Mdantsane.

Nkosinathi kicks off the double dose of Joyi tonight when he challenges Raul Garcia for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title. This battle of the left-handers is presented jointly by Branco Sports Productions and the Buffalo City Municipality at the International Convention Centre.

Mexican Garcia will be attempting a fifth title defence. Garcia and Joyi are both 27 years old and undefeated. Garcia has 27 wins and 16 KOs while Joyi has 20 wins and 15 KOs.

Garcia's boast that he would whip Joyi in front of of his fans has created more excitement around the fight. SABC has guaranteed a live broadcast on Blow by Blow at 10.30pm.
