AMAKHOSI ON THE WARPATH

KAIZER Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic says it is the Naturena team's turn to parade in the limelight after they came up well short in the race for league honours.

KAIZER Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic says it is the Naturena team's turn to parade in the limelight after they came up well short in the race for league honours.

With the usual posturing aside, the Chiefs mentor and his Mamelodi Sundowns counterpart, Trott Moloto, who both have a point to prove, assured all that they will employ attacking tactics in their Telkom Knockout clash - and have every intention to advance to the next round.

The match takes place at Super Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.

"We do not intend to change our game plan just so we can sit back and try to catch the opposition on the counter-attack. We have our own style, which is what will be on display on Sunday," Vermezovic said.

There is some good news for the Amakhosi fans: all the players, bar Gerald Sibeko, are available. Thomas Sweswe, Tinashe Nengomasha and Valery Nahayo will all make a comeback.

For the hosts, with the Hristo Stoichkov saga out of the way for now, the sky has been the limit. And those players who were not an integral part of the league campaign have come through for Moloto, though they are yet to prove their mettle against tough opponents.

Esrom Nyandoro is the only Downs player who is doubtful.

Felix Katongo and Benedict Vilakazi, who shone in Downs' last match, are expected to carry on where they left off.

l SuperSport United will have revenge in mind when they welcome AmaZulu to Super Stadium tomorrow at 3pm. A lot has been made of AmaZulu's 3-0 win when the two last met, but complacency had infected United, as they had already won the league.

United will be severely depleted and it will be left to players like Hlompho Kekana, Thandani Ntshumayelo and Jabu Maluleke to get them into the next stage.

l The match could go either way when defending champions Ajax Cape Town take on Lamontville Golden Arrows at Newlands Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.
