WITH 77 days to go until the 2010 Fifa World Cup, more South Africans are rallying round Bafana Bafana, tipping Brazil as their second favourites.

This is according to a study released by BMI Sport Info, South Africa's leading independent sport and sponsorship research company.

The study, conducted among a sample of 2400 adults in February and March, found that there is massive support for the five-time World Cup winners in South Africa - twice as much as their closest rivals, England.

BMI asked South Africans which teams they would support in the World Cup and their second preferred teams should the hosts be eliminated early.

"We appreciate and are encouraged by the tremendous support from all South Africans," said Bafana Bafana captain Aaron Mokoena.
