THE Springbok Sevens will have to up their performance if they hope to do well in the popular IRB Sevens World Series Hong Kong that kicks off tomorrow.

The Blitsbokke failed to win silverware at last weekend's Adelaide Sevens competition.

Coach Paul Treu believes the experience his youthful side gained in Adelaide will bear fruit in Hong Kong.

"This season has been very frustrating because of injuries to so many players. We lost both our captains as well as our specialist scrumhalves and must cope with the introduction of many young players at the same time," Treu told the SARugby website.

"Under the circumstances, I think the guys have performed admirably. However, no matter which team we field, it is important for the players to execute the game plan effectively. We need to up our game when it comes to the execution and especially the decision-making."

SA have been drawn in Pool F with Zimbabwe, Kenya and Korea.
