Off to Germany to broaden their skills

THE sun is shining on two technical trainers of the South African Roadies's Association.

Naledi Makhetha, 29, of Orlando East in Soweto, and Sikhumbuzo Makhathini, 34, of Ulundi in Kwa Zulu-Natal, are attending the Prolight + Sound trade fair in Frankfurt in Germany.

The fair starts today and ends on March 27.

There will be more than 80000 people from more than 100 countries attending the fair.

"Prolight + Sound is the biggest trade fair for the event sector. As the leading international trade fair, it brings together technologies and services for events and entertainment to create the world's biggest meeting place for the sector," said an exited Freddie Nyathela, the association's president.

The trade fair will give Makhetha and Makhathini an opportunity to attend seminars, meet cutting-edge equipment manufactures, acquire strategic assistance for Sara's training programmes and also to create future opportunities for all technically and production-oriented youth of South Africa.

Both trainers have earned their places through excelling in the association's training programmes and also for being accredited and registered as assessors and moderators under the South African Qualifications Authority .

Makhetha and Makhathini will be accompanied by Nyathela.

The South Africans will also be meeting representatives of Bosch-Electro Voice and the Professional Lighting and Sound Association of Germany .

At this meeting, they will have an opportunity to discuss how South Africa could implement technical and production skills transfer programmes between this country and Germany.
