EITHER ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema is ignorant or mischievous by claiming that the 1960 Sharpeville march -- which resulted in the deaths of 69 people at the hands of apartheid police - was organised by the ANC and hijacked by the PAC, says PAC leader Letlapa Mphahlele of Malema's ridiculous claims.

We want to argue that Malema is more than just ignorant and mischievous. Behind his speech lies a sinister and disturbing trend by ideologues in the ruling party to revise a proud history of our people in their gallant struggle against apartheid.

A word of advice to ignoramuses such as Malema and his revisionists: no amount of lies will deny iconic leaders such as Robert Sobukwe and Steve Biko their rightful place in history.

The history of the struggle against apartheid belongs to the people, not to the ANC.
