Cops probe motive for arson on house

LIMPOPO police have launched a probe into circumstances surrounding the burning down of a house on Friday.

The house belonged to of Linah Maepa, director for executive support in the Greater Tubatse municipality near Burgersfort.

"The motive for the attack is unknown," police spokesperson Superintendent Mohale Ramatseba said.

Sowetan learnt that there had been an uproar in Madiseleng village when it emerged that Maepa and ANC leaders in the area handed out "jobs for pals".

The ANCYL in the area has accused Maepa and another of nepotism and called for their dismissal from the ANC.
