Topping the list are Ruben Ramolefi and Mbulaeni "Bullet" Mulaudzi, who have made it clear they want to smash respective national records in the 3000m steeplechase and 800m.
Mulaudzi wants to better the 11-year-old mark of 1min:42.69secs set by Atlanta Olympics silver medallist Hezekiel Sepeng in Brussels.
"That has been there long before I even turned professional, it's time for it to go this year," said Mulaudzi, the reigning world champion.
Ramolefi plans to raise the bar by bettering his own national record of 8:11.63, which was set at the same event in Durban last year.
The 2005 World Student Games bronze medallist is in great shape after clocking 8:25.50 at another Yellow Pages event at the same venue three weeks ago.
"I'm looking forward to doing well," he said.
South Africa's most decorated jumper Khotso "Crocodile" Mokoena is tipped to continue his dominance. The Phalula twins, Lebo and Lebohang, will be in action in the 800m and 1500m events. They face stiff opposition from Rene Kalmer.
