New-look Amakhosi take on Santos in Telkom Knockout

WATCH out for the new-look Kaizer Chiefs. Amakhosi are without six regulars for the Telkom Knockout clash against Santos at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, Simphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane are in camp with Bafana Bafana in Brazil, Tinashe Nengomasha and Valery Nahayo are suspended, while Thomas Sweswe is injured.

Yet coach Vladimir Vermezovic is not worried.

"I am sure the guys who will play on Sunday will grab the opportunity with both hands. They will have to prove that they belong here. I am 80percent sure who is going to be here next season," said Vermezovic after his club's training session yesterday.

"We are proud that we have players in the national team and I hope that they'll play in the World Cup. Khune has been our number one keeper all along but Arthur Bartman will be our number one keeper on Sunday."

Vermezovic revealed that there might be changes next season.

"We will only bring in a player if he is better than what we have already. I don't like making big changes but we'll have to strengthen the team in all areas," he said.

He said midfielder Michael Nkambule might have to go out on loan to get more game-time.

Meanwhile, striker Nkosinathi Nhleko promised that they would die with their boots on.

"We'll be without our regular players but this is also an opportunity for some of the guys to get game-time," he said.
