WASHINGTON - Tiger Woods will return to competitive golf next month to play in the Augusta Masters, he said in a statement on his website yesterday.

"The Masters is where I won my first major and I view this tournament with great respect. After a long and necessary time away from the game, I feel like I'm ready to start my season at Augusta," he said.

The world No 1 golfer put his game on hold in the wake of a major sex scandal at the end of last year.
