Man killed and private parts burnt

A man was found stabbed to death in Jeppes Reef near Schoemansdal on the border between South Africa and Swaziland, Mpumalanga police said.

A man was found stabbed to death in Jeppes Reef near Schoemansdal on the border between South Africa and Swaziland, Mpumalanga police said.

The man, believed to be in his early 30s, was found on Monday night at a place used for illegal border crossings, Captain Leonard Hlathi said yesterday.

"He had two stab wounds in the back and his buttocks and his private parts were burnt beyond recognition. He had bruises all over his body."

Hlathi said they suspected the man, who had not yet been identified, was killed on the same day his body was discovered because it was still "fresh" when police arrived.

Meanwhile, the body of another man found in Emagogeni last Monday was identified as Abel Ngcane, 29, of Langeloop in Tonga near Komatipoort.

He allegedly crossed into Swaziland illegally at Emagogeni, near Malelane.

"His body had four gunshot wounds. It is suspected that he might have been killed in Swaziland," Hlathi said.

"His body was then dragged through the illegal crossing and dumped in South Africa." - Sapa
