TEKO Modise has been struggling to recapture the form that made him a household name in South African football.

But there is no doubt that on his day "The General" is probably the best in the country. He is in camp with Bafana Bafana in Brazil but he took time off to chat to Sowetan.

Q: How old were you when you started developing an interest in sports?

A: I think I was eight years old and it was while I was still staying in Meadowlands. I saw other kids progressing and decided to give it a try.

Q: Who did you support as a child and who were your heroes?

A: I grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs because my father was a fan, so it made sense for me to also support them. My heroes were and still are Doctor Khumalo and John Moshoeu.

Q: What car do you drive?

A: I drive a BMW M6 and a Range Rover Supercharged.

Q: If money were not an issue, which car would you be driving?

A: The same cars.

Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

A: South Africa.

Q: If you could choose between Marvin Gaye and Bill Withers, who would it be?

A: Marvin Gaye.

Q: If you could invite five famous people over for dinner, who would they be?

A: It would be Nelson Mandela, Patrice Motsepe, Lucas Radebe, Oprah Winfrey and DJ Sbu.

Q: If you could bring one famous person back from the dead, who would it be?

A: Lebo Mathosa.

Q: Who is your all-time favourite musician?

A: Brenda Fassie.

Q: What is your favourite song?

A: Roger That by Young Money.

Q: Who is your favourite actor?

A: Denzel Washington and Samuel Jackson.

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: The Negotiator.

Q: Have you got a celebrity crush?

A: No, I don't.

Q: What do you do in your spare time?

A: I don't have spare time. I enjoy working all the time.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant?

A: McDonald's, pada papa pa... I'm loving it (laughing).

Q. Any embarrassing moments on or off the field?

A. I got injured while I was still playing for SuperSport United and I wasn't wearing tights under my shorts. The physio had to come and check what was wrong with me but because it was a female physio, I told her I was okay.
