The Protea South Community Hall was packed with the 17-year-old's schoolmates, family, friends and members of a community traumatised by the accident on Monday that left four schoolboys dead.
Prince's aunt Joyce Mtonga led the mourners with a tribute to the likeable teenager.
"Prince you were your mother's pride. When your peers stood at street corners, you were at your soccer training," said Mtonga.
SA Football Association chairperson for the Protea region Richard Mathebula described Prince as a "superstar".
The ANC, several of its formations, the SA Communist Party and the Congress of SA Students attended the ceremony.
Prince was killed with schoolmates Phumelelo Masemola, 16, Mlungisi Cwaya, 19, and Andile Mthombeni, 16, from Altmont Technical High School.
Phumelelo and Mlungisi were buried in Limpopo, while Andile will be buried in Eastern Cape.
