TANZANIAN scholar Lutatekurwa Mwombeki Bayona has challenged the provincial department of education to come up with a comprehensive teaching method that will yield positive results.

Bayona, who is professor emeritus at the University of Venda, was addressing delegates at the provincial education summit held outside Polokwane on Friday.

"Is the current curriculum relevant, enjoyable and easy to be learnt? Are we not over-teaching young children?" he asked.

"For teachers to succeed in teaching they must come up with different methods from the ones that have failed them in the past."
