Matola quits asICC boss

DURBAN International Convention Centre chief executive Miller Matola has resigned to take up a new job as head of the International Marketing Council

He will take up his new position as IMC chief executive officer in July.

"I leave knowing that the ICC is in capable hands and believe that we are positioned to deliver against our strategic goals," Matola said yesterday.

He said he was confident that the team would maintain the momentum and future business growth of the ICC.

ICC board chairperson Mato Madlala said:

"Miller took on an incredible challenge in working to increase international business.

"His vision, dedication and industry expertise have contributed to the positive growth in the business.

"During his tenure we have seen huge growth in revenues, which resulted in the ICC achieving its ultimate goal of being self sustaining."
