Non-declaration shows JZ disrespects law

I AM not surprised by recent revelations that President Jacob Zuma has not declared his business interests since he ascended the country's highest office.

The declaration of business interests by public servants is required by law and the president has shown once again that he considers himself as above the law. Does this reinforce the view of some of us that the new administration does not respect the rule of law?

Zuma has rejected Zwelinzima Vavi's call for a lifestyle audit of public servants because the president himself did not declare his assets. How on earth do you expect ordinary public servants to heed this call when the president is in contempt?
