COPE president Mosiuoa Lekota has dismissed reports of infighting in the party, saying it was normal for party members to debate leadership succession on the eve of an election conference.

COPE president Mosiuoa Lekota has dismissed reports of infighting in the party, saying it was normal for party members to debate leadership succession on the eve of an election conference.

"You can't have democracy if you say people may not choose different leaders. That's how democracy works."

Lekota said reports of infighting were incorrect, adding that members were merely lobbying for their candidates. - Zukile Majova
