FEBRUARY proved to be a great month for supercars, with five models joining Aucor's super league by each fetching over the R1million threshold at its supercar auction last Saturday.

"With late clearances, we had over 130 lots on auction and we had a fantastic day with keen bidding from a number of buyers," Aucor MD Shannon Winterstein said.

Continuing with supercars, a 2004 Porsche GT3 was sold for R650000, while a 2007 Maserati Gransport V8 attracted a purchase price of R500000.

SUVs featured well, with a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S going for R675000, a 2007 Audi Q7 3.0 TDI selling for R300000 and a Toyota Landcruiser Prado VX 4x4 going for R280000. A 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 8 6.1l Hemi attracted a price of R250000 and one of the deals of the day was for a low-mileage 2009 Mercedes-Benz ML350 4matic, which was knocked down for R425000. Other excellent deals were had on a 2008 Audi Q7 4.2 Quattro Auto, which fetched R375000 and R160000 for a 2008 Toyota Hilux 2.7 VVTi Double Cab 4x2.

"Our supercar auctions continue to attract buyers who can choose from a selection of stunning cars, unlike any other seen under one roof," Winterstein said.
