Our soccer players need to brush up quickly

THE World Cup is upon us and we are still not convincing the football fraternity.

The dexterity of our players leaves a lot to be desired. We do not have superstar capabilities. Just have a look at our Premier League matches, where our average players are dishing out bits and pieces.

Inaccurate passes and shots, lack of tactical and technical cohesion, below average mental and physical fitness are the order of the day.

Our players are gifted in nifty footwork, but tend to have traits of flaws, selfishness and mere show- boating. Let us focus on player development rather than coaching politics . We will be fortunate to reach the last-16 and blessed if we reach the quarterfinals .
