Rohr, 56, replaces Alain Giresse, whose contract was not renewed after Gabon were eliminated in the first round of this year's Afcon finals in Angola.
Former Girondins Bordeaux coach Rohr, who was sacked by Ligue 2 side Nantes in December after a short spell in charge, signed a two-year deal with Gabon at the weekend.
