Historic land to go under the hammer

DEVELOPERS and investors will shortly have the opportunity to acquire, by auction, two valuable portions of the farm Klipview.

DEVELOPERS and investors will shortly have the opportunity to acquire, by auction, two valuable portions of the farm Klipview.

The farm is between the Old Vereeniging Road and the new Sybrand van Niekerk R57 throughway, in the Midvaal municipality.

The auction takes place on site on Tuesday, March 2, from 11am.

The two portions will be sold individually or as a whole, with the highest bid or combination of bids taken into consideration.

Portion 45, comprising about 8,6ha, is zoned commercial and includes the historic Boer War blockhouse monument, used by General Kitchener's troops to defend the area against valiant Boer Kommandos, as well as a newly built 600 square metre restaurant.

Portion 44 comprises about 8,6ha of vacant land (inclusive of a highway servitude), as well as a 5,5ha section zoned commercial, with a height permissible factor of three storeys and coverage of80percent.

The two portions of land lie adjacent to one another and are ideally positioned, facing one of the busiest freeways in South Africa, linking the Vaal Triangle with Gauteng.

Peter Havenga of Park Village Auctions, which has secured the auction mandate, says the properties lend themselves to a variety of commercial and tourism enterprises.
