A 32-YEAR-OLD police constable was arrested in Mthatha for car theft after he was found driving a stolen vehicle, Eastern Cape police said yesterday.

A 32-YEAR-OLD police constable was arrested in Mthatha for car theft after he was found driving a stolen vehicle, Eastern Cape police said yesterday.

Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said the car was stolen from the King Sabata Dalindyebo municipality in December. The constable was arrested on Wednesday.

He is expected to appear in the Mthatha magistrate's court today.

In a separate incident, four employees of the King Sabata Dalindyebo municipality were arrested over fraud relating to the disappearance of R2,2million from the municipality in 2007. - Sapa
