With the 24,8percent hike granted yesterday, its electricity bill will go up to R124,80.

An increase of 25,1percent next year will take the bill to R156,12. The following year the family's bill will go up by another 25,9percent to R196,56.

From April 1, a household that has been paying R250 will pay R312. An increase of 25,1percent next year will take the bill to R390,31. In 2012 they will pay R491,41.

l A household paying R800 for electricity will pay R998,4 from April and R1255,99 in 2011. In 2012, when the electricity increases by 25,9percent, the bill will be up to R1581,29.

A household paying R1200 will pay R1497,60 on the first 24,8percent increase this year. Another increase of 25,1percent on this amount will make this household pay R1873,5 in 2011.

An increase of 25,9percent on R1873,5 will make this household end up paying R2358,74 in 2012.
