Gaby to launch book in style

LEADING businessman, veteran banker and author Gaby Magomola is scheduled to launch his book at a function Life@40'nBeyond's second session at Robby's Place in Pimville, Soweto, this Sunday.

LEADING businessman, veteran banker and author Gaby Magomola is scheduled to launch his book at a function Life@40'nBeyond's second session at Robby's Place in Pimville, Soweto, this Sunday.

And one cannot help but wonder whether Magomola is within the age group of 40 years.

But, anyway, the organisers have chosen the author of autobiographical book From Robben Island to Wall Street, a book that is about Magomola's life while incarcerated at Robben Island for his political activism.

The book was launched last year and the event was attended by leading businessmen, the judiciary, social activists and politicians. Now Magomola has been booked as the main speaker at this event.

The theme at the recent event was life is a journey whose experiences you should enjoy to the fullest.

The last event was all about joyful fun, happiness and social interaction of the matured type.

It was a setting where the avant-garde met to celebrate, make friends and network in a social context that seeks to empower, exchange skills and entertain in one package.

Terry Mokoena, the main man behind the concept, says this occasion was open to anyone who fitted the 40 years and beyond.

And indeed patrons were already there, sipping wine and chatting merrily about all sorts of interesting topics painting the social landscape well before 3pm.

Jokes and laughter rang out to the accompaniment of the soulful melody of smooth jazz churned out by the inimitable Paul Radebe, who made every arrival feel more than at home.

Now the same occasion will take place this Sunday as these 40-something and older friends once again meet at the same venue.
