HUNDREDS of municipal workers in Ekurhuleni will march to the council offices tomorrow to demand an end to "corruption and poor leadership".

"The municipality has been notified, the strike is legal and we are ready to take to the streets," South African Municipal Workers Union spokesperson Koena Ramotlou said.

The union said it would hold a press briefing about the strike at a local branch in Springs today.

Ekurhuleni municipality spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said he was not in a position to comment on the strike and the allegations against the mayoral committee and senior officials.

"We do not want to pre-empt anything."
