The taxi industry has never been fair to its customers because they strike, increase fares without commuters' approval or consideration, poor treatment to commuters, especially women and children.
I wonder who is representing commuters against the industry. Rea Vaya Bus Rapid Transit System is offering an alternative to commuters but the taxi industry is against it. It must be the commuters who decide and not the taxi industry.
If the taxi industry wants to be taken seriously it must clean up its act, treat commuters with the respect they deserve, engage them when increasing fares and give them roadworthy and reliable transport.
