EXPECT a no-holds-barred and entertaining Soweto derby between hosts Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs tomorrow.
The two antagonists confront each other at the rebuilt 38000-seat Orlando Stadium, with kickoff at 3.15pm.
Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic said now that they were free from the pressure of the Absa Premiership title race, they could express themselves against their traditional rivals.
"It is important for everybody at the stadium to enjoy the game and we at Kaizer Chiefs will make sure this happens," Vermezovic said yesterday. "We have lost the chance to challenge for the league title, so it's important that we make it a good game for the fans."
But the Serbian mentor refused to predict the winner.
Bucs' Dutch coach ,Rudi Krol, believes the derby is still the biggest game on the local football calendar.
"It's a pity that after last night's (Wednesday's) match we did not have enough time for a match of this magnitude.
"But the derby is still important and it does not matter where you are in the league. The objective is to always do well and be above Kaizer Chiefs," Krol said.
Krol, who did well in his first season in the PSL, losing out to eventual winners SuperSport United only on goal difference, admitted it had been a huge challenge to coach Bucs.
"There is always pressure, especially at a big club like Pirates, but I'm used to it.
"The problem this season is that we scored fewer goals than we did last season.
"We played 24 matches in three months and that was always going to be difficult."
The last time the Soweto clubs met at the same venue was on October 31 last year, where they played to a dour goalless draw.
