Pirates administrative executive Floyd Mbele yesterday issued a stern warning to fans without tickets not to waste their time by coming to the stadium.
"We have sold 32000 tickets for Saturday's big match and 2500 of the tickets are complimentary," Mbele said.
"Security will be tight and we plead with fans who have not purchased tickets not to come anywhere near the stadium on Saturday.
"We will have a media briefing (today) where all the logistics will be announced."
Young Pirates linkman Andile Jali said they were geared up for the big game, which splits families and unites political foes.
"This is a big game in the history of South African soccer. For the supporters this is the fixture that matters most to them and we are ready for Chiefs. We have no choice but to win this game. But I must add that it will be a tough one."
From Chiefs' camp, defender Tlou "Spanner" Molekwane said: "It's always difficult to play against Pirates but we will fight hard for a win."
Soccer lovers are encouraged to arrive early as Vodacom and Standard Bank will be giving away hampers to the first 20000 fans to enter the stadium.
The first 10000 supporters will receive a flag, courtesy of the banking institution, while the cellphone company will hand out T-shirts. Pirates spokesperson Mickey Modisane said: "The derby has not lost its spark, so the tickets are sold out. The gates will open at 9am.
"We warn those who bought tickets in bulk, hoping to make money by selling them at a higher price, not to take a chance. Plainclothes and uniformed police will be out in full force," warned Modisane, who has been seconded to the Local Organising Committee as the Ellis Park Stadium venue coordinator for the 2010 World Cup.
