I agreed to meet her with the intention to assist her to realise her dream of completing the media and journalism course at the end of the year.
As if Moya's column was prophetic, it turns out that this young student's scholarship could not be renewed because she had not fulfilled the most crucial aspect of being granted the bursary.
As part of the contract with the sponsors, she was expected to perform basic community work.
This is designed to encourage the noble spirit of giving that initially inspired the founding of such a facility in the first place.
The Lucky Mazibuko Scholarship is firmly founded on the principle that "blessed is the hand that gives" and for any beneficiary to violate the pillar of such a vision is unforgivable and it cannot be compromised, irrespective of how well the student may fare in the academic calendar.
Our country must breed a new nation of generous people, who must know that one can never be without the wellness of others.
I do not even wish to call it ubuntu because it is far more than that.
