AS MILLIONS of poor South Africans wait to hear if their social grants will be increased in today's Budget speech, the country's parliamentarians are fighting about how much they are allowed to insult each other in Parliament.

AS MILLIONS of poor South Africans wait to hear if their social grants will be increased in today's Budget speech, the country's parliamentarians are fighting about how much they are allowed to insult each other in Parliament.

Cope and the DA staged a walkout in Parliament yesterday, after deputy speaker Nomaindia Mfeketo ruled Cope's Mluleki George out of order.

During Monday's sitting of Parliament George said "our president pretends to emulate Mandela and yet he continues to contradict him".

An ANC MP called a point of order after George added "with Zuma at the helm, South Africans are leaderless".

The ANC's Mfeketo delivered her ruling yesterday, telling George he was out of order, and to withdraw his comments or leave the house. George refused and Cope walked out, with the DA following. - Anna Majavu
