JAZZ musician George Benson says SA will host a very successful 2010 World Cup.

In a phone interview from his British base the guitar virtuoso, who is heading for South Africa and the Cape Town International Jazz Festival in April, said the World Cup would showcase the country's capabilities.

"When I think about South Africa I imagine a country full of opportunities and potential," Benson said. "It is no longer the South Africa of 30 years ago. People are now knowledgeable and are taking advantage of opportunities available to them.

"I have no shade of doubt that South Africa is capable of successfully hosting the Fifa World Cup, given the country's background."

The 10-time Grammy award-winning musician, who released his classic love songs album, will perform in Cape town on April 3 and 4.

The albums includes the following much-loved ballads and love songs: Give Me The Night, Love X Love, Lady Love Me (One More Time), In Your Eyes, Turn Your Love Around and The Greatest Love Of All.
