Mansion goes under hammer

THIS luxury double storey mansion is one of several properties in Johannesburg's "New South" up for auction by Park Village Auctions shortly.

This impressive home, plus a block of eight fully-tenanted flats and a further two freehold family homes, all come under the hammer on Wednesday next week.

This will be followed the next day by a further three freehold family homes.

The sequence of sales commencing with the mansion pictured here begins at 11am at 9 Alamein Road, Robertsham.

The large double storey home comprises entrance hall, lounge, dining room, TV room, prayer room, banquet room, guest cloak, three VIP bedroom suites, two ensuite bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, gymnasium and indoor shooting range.

There are also an indoor swimming pool, entertainment-recreation room, self-contained two bedroom flat, various garages and carports as well as a tennis court.

There are exceptional fittings in the mansion.

The sale of the eight one- bedroomed sectional title flats then commences at 1pm at Azba Court, 11 Corner Street, Forest Hill.

Each comprises entrance foyer, lounge, kitchen, bedroom and one bathroom.

The units generate a monthly income of R22000.

In turn, the flat sales will be followed at 2.30pm on the same day of a home at 119, Altham Rd, Robertsham, and at 3.30pm by another property at 48 Altham Road, Robertsham.

Both are well-maintained family homes.

Those sales will be followed the next day on Thursday, February 25, by that of a further three family homes - all in Gillview - commencing at 11am at 26 Derrick Street, 12pm at 22 Derick Street, and at 1pm at 21 Trevor Street.

Park Village Auctions' Peter Havenga says: "There is a widening appreciation of the South's selling points - good infrastructure in terms of roads such as the M1 and the N12, schools and shopping facilities such as The Glen and Comaro Crossing.

"Also, there is good access to all points of the Johannesburg compass, and businesses are increasingly identifying and exploring the potential of the area.

"The economic vibrancy of the area is underlined by a sound property market which has weathered the downturn better than most. The sale of these properties should be seen in this context."
