Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeff Wicks said the man's bakkie left the N3 Durban-bound carriageway near the Spaghetti interchange.
"The man was thrown from the bakkie and pinned beneath the wheels when it came to rest," he said.
The bakkie was lifted and the man was pulled free and taken to hospital. - Sapa
