A 40-YEAR-OLD Limpopo man was attacked by two unknown men while he was having sex with a woman in the bushes on Sunday night.
The man is recovering at home after he was treated for serious head injuries at Mankweng Hospital.
Mankweng police spokesperson Malan Nchabeleng said the man, whose name is known to Sowetan, was allegedly hit over the head with a sharp instrument and fell to the ground while having sex with a 37-year old woman.
Nchabeleng said two armed men allegedly hid behind trees at Noka Etshweu (White River) outside Nobody in Mathibaskraal while the man parked his BMW car.
"The assailants waited for the couple to undress and attacked them while they were having sex.
"The assailants allegedly hit the man over the head and he lost consciousness," Nchabeleng said.
He said the attackers took the man's clothes, threw him out of the car and drove off with the woman.
"A short distance away, they dragged the woman out of the car and raped her several times until the early hours of the morning.
"As if that was not enough, the men set the car alight and released the woman," he said.
The woman went to Mankweng police station to open a case of rape.
"When police arrived at the scene the man was still unconscious on the ground while his car was in flames a few kilometres away," Nchabeleng said.
He said the incident happened a few months after another woman was found crawling on the road after she had been raped the whole night by a group of men who had assaulted her and her partner while they were having sex in the same bushes.
Police have opened cases of rape, arson and high-jacking in connection with the incident.
