BOTSWANA'S consumer inflation quickened to 6,1percent year-on-year in January, largely due to higher school fees and transport costs, the Central Statistics Office said yesterday.

BOTSWANA'S consumer inflation quickened to 6,1percent year-on-year in January, largely due to higher school fees and transport costs, the Central Statistics Office said yesterday.

The move from 5,8percent in December lifts the CPI back outside the central bank's 3percent to 6percent target range, to which it has forecast to stabilise in the medium term. - Reuters
