Straight talk

WHAT is a job opportunity and how does it differ from a job in the old-fashion sense of the word?

WHAT is a job opportunity and how does it differ from a job in the old-fashion sense of the word?

We are happy to admit the former president often had us confused with his allusions to verses by dead poets and music styles. We accepted the guy was trying hard to prove how cultured he was and how the many years of living off the generosity of Europeans had not gone to waste.

With the new guy in charge's less than spectacular scholastic record we assumed big event speeches would not require big dictionaries and encyclopaedias to figure out what the big talk was all about. We were too optimistic.

We hope those in charge will create a job (or is it a job opportunity?), the main task of which will be to restore plain language to government speak.
