LONDON -Bolton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur battled to a 1-1 stalemate in an all-Premier League FA Cup fifth round tie at the Reebok Stadium yesterday after Tom Huddlestone missed a second-half penalty for the visitors.

Bolton deservedly took the lead against Spurs when Kevin Davies completed a flowing 16-man passing move with a well-taken strike past goalkeeper Huerelho Gomes after 34 minutes.

The home side dominated the first half but Spurs took control after the break and hit the bar twice in two minutes through a Peter Crouch header and a Paul Robinson back-pass before Defoe smashed home their equaliser after 61 minutes before Huddlestone had his 71st minute penalty saved by Jussi Jaaskalainen.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle said: "You could say it was a game of two halves, but I think it was an hour for us and probably the last half hour for Tottenham."
