"The three sisters were sleeping when one of them decided to go outside for some fresh air. She was met by an unknown man who was armed with a knife," said Superintendent Vincent Mdunge.
The man allegedly tried to attack the girl but she managed to get away, he said.
"The second girl heard something was happening and went to investigate. The man allegedly stabbed her to death."
When the third girl heard her sisters' cries she went out to check, only to find that one of her sisters was dead.
The man is alleged to have then threatened her with a knife before taking her to a railway line where he raped her.
