FOUR men accused of brutally raping and stabbing a woman in her home in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, appeared in court on Friday on charges of attempted murder, rape and robbery with aggravated circumstances.

FOUR men accused of brutally raping and stabbing a woman in her home in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, appeared in court on Friday on charges of attempted murder, rape and robbery with aggravated circumstances.

Samuel Baloyi, 37, Joel Mogoboyi, 27, Seth Raditapole, 23, and Maile Malatjie, 27, who were arrested on Wednesday, appeared before magistrate Emmanuel Magompa.

The woman's husband had hired the men to construct a lapa in their yard.

The four allegedly raped and stabbed the woman and looted goods in the house because her husband had paid them R2000 less than the agreed amount.

The man is said to have negotiated with them to pay R6400 instead of the R8400 they had agreed on because his wife had made them breakfast and lunch for the three weeks they worked on the premises.

The case was postponed to Friday and the accused were remanded in custody.
