AS a resident of North West I would like to congratulate and urge encouragement for the good work the provincial task team is doing.
I wrote extensively in 2007-08 about the incompetence of the provincial administration and the need to overhaul it to improve service delivery.
The fact of the matter is that the current outgoing crop of mayors and the disbanded PEC had long forgotten that they are in politics to serve the people. They were only interested in lining their own pockets and dispensing patronage to build political support.
I am delighted that that regime is being dismantled. We support the actions of the PTT and we will defend their actions against malcontents with deeprooted factionalist tendencies.
We need service delivery and we need it now. We are not going to be intimidated by the smalltime politicians with inflated egos about what is good for the ANC in North West and the provincial administration.
