Stars back to full strength

FREE State Stars hope the return of two regular players, Duncan Lechesa and Tshegofatso Mashego, will spur them to victory against equally struggling Bidvest Wits today.

FREE State Stars hope the return of two regular players, Duncan Lechesa and Tshegofatso Mashego, will spur them to victory against equally struggling Bidvest Wits today.

The two meet in an Absa Premiership match at Charles Mopeli Stadium, Namahadi, at 3.30pm.

Both team go into this match under immense pressure to win after indifferent results in their recent matches.

Stars are still trying to recover from a 2-0 defeat against log leaders SuperSport United in Atteridgeville last weekend, while Wits played to a goalless draw with Orlando Pirates.

Stars' inspirational captain Lechesa and Mashego missed the Atteridgeville encounter because of suspensions.

Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena is excited that they go into the game against Wits at full strength, saying the worst result for them would be a draw.

"The days of being generous with points are over, we are going to use the game against Wits to get back to our winning ways."

Wits director George Mogotsi said: "We've always done well in QwaQwa and we expect no problems this time round."

With Stars looking up to Lechesa to steer them to victory, Wits will rely on their captain Tefu Mashamaite.
