Four crash victims not identified

THE Makhuduthamaga municipality in Jane Furse has appealed to local communities to assist in identifying the bodies of a number of victims of a horrific accident on Sunday that claimed the lives of at least 11 people.

THE Makhuduthamaga municipality in Jane Furse has appealed to local communities to assist in identifying the bodies of a number of victims of a horrific accident on Sunday that claimed the lives of at least 11 people.

The accident in Groblersdal involved four vehicles - two minibus taxis, a bakkie and a delivery van.

The multiple pile-up occurred when the driver of the van allegedly tried to overtake one of the taxis.

Municipal spokesperson Advocate Maabane said seven victims had been positively identified but four still needed to be identified at the St Rita Hospital's mortuary. - Frank Maponya
