AFTER withdrawing from the Aviva International Indoor meet in Scotland last Saturday, top jumper Khotso "Crocodile" Mokoena is eyeing three Yellow Pages Series events.

Mokoena plans to compete in three events of the series as part of his preparations for the 2010 World Indoor Games in Doha, Qatar, next month.

"I withdrew on the day of the meet because of an injury. I'm fine now and ready for the series. I still have to decide which three legs I will compete in," Mokoena said.

"My plan is to start and end 2010 on a winning note in all the events I compete in. The year 2010 is a great one for South Africa and our continent.

"We in South Africa will be hosting the 2010 Fifa World Cup, which will definitely be a great success. We also expect Bafana Bafana to do well.

"I also want 2010 to be a more successful one for me too by winning all my competitions, both locally and abroad. It's gonna be a hectic year for me."

Mokoena, the only South African athlete to return from the Beijing Olympics with a medal (silver), is also hoping to successfully defend the title he won at the 2008 World Indoor Games.

"My training has been working very well. I have been working hard to perfect my jumping techniques in order to continue doing well.

"After the Doha meet, I will be off to Kenya for the African Senior Championships in June, where a team to represent Africa during the World Cup will be selected.

"The big one this year is the Commonwealth Games in India in October.

"I want to end the year with a bang by winning gold there."
