Led by arts activist and playwright Mpho Molepo, the roll-out of this year's Sati projects has been earmarked for this month.
The workshops come against the background of Sati having clocked its 10th years of theatre development in southern Africa last year.
Sati will kick-start its 2010 programmes with programmes such as the Arts Administration Workshop from February 8 to February 12, Celebrating SADC Women in Theatre and Dance Festival from March 8 to 13 and Theatre for Development Conference on April 6 and 7.
The Arts Administration Workshop is designed for and aimed at building the capacity of arts administrators in order to establish good financial, management and administrative practices in the arts as well as build accountability and effective organisations.
A national programme will include arts institutions, community theatre practitioners and other stakeholders from all nine provinces.
Celebrating SADC Women in the Theatre and Dance Festival will provide a platform for women to discuss policies, socio-economic and politics affecting the development of women in theatre and dance.
The Theatre for Development Seminar - HIV-Aids in Southern Africa was first launched in Botswana in 2004 and brought together practitioners within the SADC region and explored ways to use theatre to educate and inform on methods to stop the spread of HIV-Aids.
Veteran theatre practitioner Lara Foot-Newton has been roped in to facilitate the programmes on the development of a SADC women's play.
The stalwart of community theatre Bobby Rodwell will direct the proceedings.
"We are happy we came this far with these programme. They have produced many arts leaders of note who today head important arts institutions such as the Market Lab and the Free State Provincial Youth Arts Council," said Molepo, the general secretary of Sati.
